Fire!

Over the weekend some of my friends came up from my hometown. Love my best friend Terra to death, but she almost burned down my apartment! She popped one of those soft pretzels from the freezer into the microwave and she asked me how long they have to go in for and i said 70 seconds. Well dear dear Terra thought i said 7 minutes! Before we knew it smoke was pouring out of the microwave! We hurried and flung open all the windows, but the alarm went off anyway. No harm is done except our microwave kinda smells bad now when you use it, but thats temporary and the pretzel and the plate it was on needed to be trashed.

ha... I have done that a couple of times. I some time eat those noodles you put in the microwave. You have to put water in the container before you put them in. I forgot to one time and stunk up the place for like 4 days. It melted almost the whole container.

Wow. I don't think I have personally ever done that before. But I do know that it is super easy to burn popcorn, and I know from personal experience that it will stink up your entire house for at least a day if you burn a bag. It's kind of funny to look back on these experiences though.

Wow I am sorry to hear about this, but it does sound kind of funny. One time my mom told me to put something in the microwave for 5 mins when it was actually 5 seconds and it smelled so bad. My mom was so mad at me but in reality she really did say 5 mins without thinking! I guess people just need to pay more attention. I'm glad you guys are ok though, and your apartment is ok!

That's nuts. I've done something like that before but not to that extent. I've melted tupperware a couple of times before, but I think that's the worst of it. Tupperware doesn't catch on fire, it just makes the microwave smoke and stink.
